8th Warsaw School of Statistical Physics
2025-01-20
An international school of statistical physics, the ‘8th Warsaw School of Statistical Physics’, organized by researchers from the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, will be held from 29 June to 5 July 2025 at the European Centre for Geological Education of the University of Warsaw in Chęciny. Lectures will be on the physics of growth processes, complex systems, quantum nonequilibrium processes, topology and mechanics of soft matter and quantum thermodynamics.
The event aims to introduce young researchers, including PhD students and postdocs, to the most important research areas in statistical physics. Invited lecturers include: Arezki Boudaoud from École Polytechnique (France), Julyan Cartwright from Universidad de Granada (Spain), Fabian Essler from Oxford University (UK), Randall Kamien from University of Pennsylvania (USA) and Roberto M. Serra from Universidade Federal do ABC (Brazil). Participants will present their research in a poster session and have the opportunity to discuss with the experts in practical sessions.
The organisers are waiting for applications until 11 April 2025.
‘The 8th Warsaw School of Statistical Physics’ is a side event of the 29th International Conference on Statistical Physics (StatPhys29), which will take place from 13-18 July 2025 in Florence.
