Scholarships to Start distributed for the third time

On 1 July 2025 in the Kazimierzowski Palace, Rector Alojzy Z. Nowak presented diplomas to the winners of the third edition of the Scholarship to Start programme. The programme aims to encourage exceptionally talented candidates to study at the University of Warsaw. Among the winners were as many as nineteen students pursuing their studies at the Faculty of Physics of the University and five doctoral students conducting research at our Faculty.
The Scholarships to Start programme is designed for the most talented students and doctoral students who were admitted to a university or doctoral school in a given academic year. Under the programme, scholarships of PLN 12,000 are awarded to Olympians (i.e., students who have won subject Olympiads) and athletes, and PLN 18,000 to doctoral students.
248 UW students and doctoral students received diplomas of Scholarships to Start, which is an initiative of the Rector's Scholarship Fund. “We want you to study at one of the best universities in Europe and the world. Passion is a quality that every researcher, athlete, and Olympian should have. You are our pride," said Professor Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, during a ceremony in the Kazimierzowski Palace.
Among the students who are winners of the Olympiads, pursuing their education at the Faculty of Physics of the UW (including MISMaP students), the following were awarded: Wiktor Bański, Weronika Bednarek, Jan Błażuk, Patryk Chwiej, Karol Dąbrowski, Dawid Górniak, Michał Jagodziński, Piotr Jędrzejczyk, Kacper Kłos, Tobiasz Kręcicki, Jan Malawski, Andrzej Maroń, Aleksander Mielnikau, Aniela Pimpicka, Paweł Ptaszek, Magdalena Ratyńska, Stanisław Świercz, Mikołaj Warda. A sports scholarship was awarded to Stanisław Sieniawski.
Scholarships were also awarded to five doctoral students conducting research at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw: Michał Ciuryło, Wojciech Kolesiński, Mateusz Kulejewski, Bartłomiej Sikorski and Dawid Woś.
