FUW representatives in IAPS

During this year’s Annual General Meeting of the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS), two representatives of the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw – Natalia Godlewska and Mikołaj Zawadzki – were elected to prestigious positions within this global organization.

IAPS is an international association that brings together physics students and student societies from all over the world. Its mission is to foster cooperation, exchange of experiences, and integration within the community of young physicists. Currently, IAPS represents more than 90,000 physics students worldwide.

At this year’s IAPS Annual General Meeting, two representatives of the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw – Natalia Godlewska and Mikołaj Zawadzki – were elected to serve in important roles in this international association.

Natalia Godlewska, an astronomy student at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw, was appointed Advocacy Officer. Her main responsibilities will include: identifying and analyzing issues important to the student community, initiating and leading working groups focused on topics relevant to IAPS members, promoting gender equality within the physics community, and cooperating with partner organizations to strengthen the position of physics students.

Mikołaj Zawadzki, MSc, a PhD student conducting his research at our Faculty, was elected a member of the AC5 Council responsible for the Outstanding Students Award. The AC5 Council also supports the organization of IAPS’s major events, such as ICPS (International Conference of Physics Students) and PLANCKS (Physics League Across Numerous Countries for Kick-ass Students).
