Asymptotic freedom and bound states
Analysis of similarity renormalization group procedure for Hamiltonians in a generic matrix model suggests that the rate of change of effective coupling constant in asymptotically free theories is related to quantum- mechanical formation of bound states and depends on how the interactions that are responsible for binding are included in the renormalization group equations. Prospects of carrying out similar analyses for quarks and gluons or other systems of interest in physics, will be briefly mentioned.
