The Universe facing exotic singularities in the future
The supernovae observations gave evidence not only for dark energy as a matter of a small negative pressure (quitessence) but also for a larger negative pressure (phantom). Phantom matter may lead to a new type of a future singularity - Big-Rip. Being motivated by this exotic, some other types of future singularities in the universe have been investigated. I will review these singularities and discuss how close to the present they can be faced in the future evolution of the universe.
