The semi-infinite Toda lattice is an example of Hamiltonian system which is described in terms of the geometry of Banach Lie-Poisson spaces. It is shown that the infinite dimensional generalzation of the Flaschka map is a momentum map.Action-angle variables for the Toda system are constructed
