Probing nuclear structure and deformation in the vicinity of ⁴⁰Ca and ⁵⁶Ni
In this talk, recent research on the structure of atomic nuclei using the Coulomb excitation method, conducted in the regions of magic nuclei ⁴⁰Ca and ⁵⁶Ni, will be presented. The similarities and differences between the two mass regions will be discussed, along with the results of experiments performed at the INFN LNL laboratories (using the AGATA spectrometer) and the IJC Lab (using the nuBall2 setup), as well as the latest theoretical calculations within the shell model and the collective models.
The prospects for further research in this field at the Heavy Ion Laboratory, University of Warsaw, will also be presented.
