Spectroscopist's view on Microplastic Pollution – to identify, to understand, to prevent
This talk presents the main outcomes of a few research case studies concerning plastic pollution in polar regions, high oceans, and transfers within the food web. It introduces the microplastic problem and presents the holistic approach to tackle this issue: starting from the sampling and purification, via identification and modelling, and last but not least considering the ecotoxicity and recycling strategies.
