Public quantum computers - a toy or a tool?
Access to quantum experiments became available to everybody by public providers of quantum computers, such as IBM, IQM, IonQ, and more. The current computers consist of 30-150 qubits and allow single-qubit and two-qubit operations and measurements. The communication with the computer requires sending circuits to run and retrieving results. Although some quantum features, like violation of Bell inequality, can be observed, the results show many disagreements with theoretical expectations. I will discuss the progress, challenges, and impact on the foundations of quantum mechanics.
