Seminarium "Modeling of Complex Systems"

I will provide a brief overview of the current research landscape in AI for materials science, with a focus on the role of foundation models for interatomic potentials in accelerating atomic-scale simulations. I will present ongoing work on the generalizability of pre-trained models to structurally disordered systems, and examine whether automated data-generation strategies can enable these models to bridge length scales—from small to large—and structural regimes, from ordered to disordered.
