Baryogenesis and Dark Matter from Rotating Axions
I will discuss how axion-like particles can play a role in generating both the observed baryon asymmetry and the dark matter abundance of our Universe. While the asymmetry can be generated during the rotation of axions in the early Universe, the coherent oscillations of axions at later epochs can account for the dark matter abundance. I will discuss mechanisms for generating such dynamics, including symmetry non-restoration and non-minimal coupling to gravity, along with some of their characteristic predictions for particle physics and cosmology experiments.
