Double field theory and deformation quantisation
Double field theory (DFT) manifests T-duality by doubling spacetime coordinates. While Courant algebroids and QP manifolds describe the metric and B-field, they struggle to capture the dilaton. We show that by deforming the exterior algebra of the QP manifold into a Clifford algebra via a graded star product, the dilaton naturally emerges. This deformation quantisation elegantly generates the DFT tensor hierarchy and provides a natural algebraic framework to formulate the DFT action.
