Random Fields and Particle Statistics in a Weakly Interacting Bose Gas

I will discuss a model of a high-density, weakly interacting Bose gas at temperatures comparable to the Bose–Einstein condensation transition temperature. Building on results by Deuchert, Nam, and Napiórkowski on the validity of the Bogoliubov approximation, I will explain how the Gibbs state can be represented in terms of a random field. I will then show how this representation can be used to study the statistics of particles localized in position or momentum space. The resulting distributions depend on whether the gas is in the condensed phase and on the length scale under consideration, but in each case admit a description in terms of a random field.
