Hunting the Unknown: About BSM (LLP) searches in ATLAS and CMS experiments at LHC
How do we search for something when we do not know what it is? ATLAS and CMS address this question through a broad program of searches for physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM), placing particular emphasis to long-lived particles (LLPs). Using selected results from LHC Runs 2 and 3, we explore the capabilities of both experiments to probe exotic signatures that may indicate the presence of hypothetical particles.
