The Project NICA-MPD at JINR Physics Goals and Observables
The NICA is a project of new JINR accelarator complex for an experimental study of hot and dense nuclear matter in heavy ion collisions at sqrt(s_NN)= 4 - 11 GeV. For realization of the experimental program, including search for manifestation of the phase transition, mixed phase and critical end-point, the MultiPurpose Detector (MPD) is planned to construct. Physics observables which could be measured to search these phenomena are described.
