A curious property of near-horizon geometry

For every extremal black hole (in any dimension) there exists a well-defined notion of its near-horizon geometry. This concept has been investigated for some time already; however, it seems to have passed unnoticed that every near-horizon metric admits a foliation consisting entirely of Killing horizons.
