Seminarium Fizyki Jądra Atomowego

I will discuss issues related to the construction of the nuclear energy density functionals (EDFs), within framework of the nuclear density functional theory. First, I will discuss how to construct a nuclear EDF model, with focus on the UNEDF-family Skyrme EDFs. Since the EDF parameters can not be obtained from any theory, they must be adjusted to empirical input. Secondly, I will discuss about the EDF model uncertainties. The role of model uncertainties becomes prominent when EDF models are used to make predictions in the experimentally unknown region. In particularly, I will discuss how to quantify the statistical model error. Comparison of theoretical predictions, with error bars are made to the experimental data.
