We introduce the notion of stationary actions in the context of C*-algebras. As an application, we obtain new characterizations of C*-simplicity, in terms of unique stationarity. By that we single out certain random walks that `capture’ C*-simplicity, and we prove some rigidity properties for these measures.This is joint work with Yair Hartman.
