Spectroscopy and shape change in neutron-rich Sr and Zr isotopes
Neutron-rich Sr and Zr nuclei around N=60 show a sudden shape transition from spherical ground state to strongly prolate-deformed. Recently, a lot of new insight into the structure of Sr isotopes in this region was gained through experimental studies of excited levels, transitions strengths and spectroscopic factors. In this work I will discuss a ``classical'' shell-model (SM) description of Sr isotopes below the shape change in a natural valence space outside the 78Ni core. The same framework was previously used to study e.g. Zr isotopes and appeared successful to describe experimental data up to 98Zr, except some features of the shape change in 100Zr. I will discuss the SM results in the context of existing data and other theoretical models as well as the currently on-going study to interpret the new data from the EXILL campaign.
