Interacting electrons in semiconductor and graphene quantum dots

We discuss effects of electron-electron interactions in synthetic quantum matter with semiconductor and graphene quantum dots in semiconductor nanowires, transition metal dichalcogenites (TMDCs), graphene, artificial graphene and gated bilayer graphene. We start with atomistic design of InAs quantum dots in InP nanowires for entangled photons emission. We follow with quantum dot arrays for synthetic spin one chains, paradigm of quantum matter, and synthetic Kitaev chains hosting Majorana Fermions. This is followed by graphene quantum dots and quantum simulators of strongly correlated phases in synthetic quantum Hall systems. We finish with excitons and broken symmetry valley and spin polarized phases of Dirac Fermions in voltage controlled semiconductors in bilayer graphene.
